NuCoal Energy Corp.(NuCoal) is a private company founded in 2008 by Alan Cruickshank President, CEO, Managing Director; Steve Halabura P. GEO, Managing Director and Tom MacNeill CFA, President of 49 North Resources and advisor to NuCoal.
The company's purpose was to secure development rights to a significant known coal resource in southern Saskatchewan. NuCoal is the largest coal landholder in the province of Saskatchewan with a total of approximately 1.7 million hectares.
Using the data from the National Coal Survey of Canada the Federal and Provincial governments assembled a report that indicates a resource in excess of 5 billion tonnes of coal in southern Saskatchewan. This data is based on information from 4,631 drill holes drilled in the 1970's and 1980's as part of the national coal strategy.
