Uhde and TransGas are working together on a 18,000 bbl/d Coal to Gasoline Project located in West Virginia, USA. On the 25th February 2010 the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality, issued an Air Permit/Permit to Construct the facility. This is a significant development as we believe this is the first gasification based project of this size that has been granted a "minor source" air permit. The TransGas Project has two PRENFLOTM Gasifiers as its source of syngas.

The Associated Press recently reported that with Kentucky trying to land plants to convert coal to cleaner-burning fuels, the state is considering a proposal to extend eminent domain rights to pipeline companies that would transport liquefied carbon dioxide. The AP reported on Feb. 11 that supporters of the proposal believe the measure will help give Kentucky an advantage in constructing coal-to-liquid fuel plants and could also help the state if federal regulators impose additional restrictions on carbon dioxide emissions.
