Jindal Group announced plans to develop a coal-to-liquid (CTL) project in Angul, Orissa, India, TopNews Singapore reported July 13. The project is expected to require an investment of US$9 billion. The company expects to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Orissa government on the project soon. "This CTL project is a national priority. It seeks to convert locally available coal to diesel and other useful byproducts. This project happens to be one of the four mega projects that the company has in the pipeline," said a Jindal spokesman.
